Martin Kappel Theater Technical Information

The Martin W. Kappel Theater is a community theater located in Norwich, New York. The 506 seat house began its life around 1900 as a high school auditorium and was renovated in 1996 thanks to a large community effort. The theater, originally known as the Community Cultural Center Theater, was renamed in memory of Martin W. Kappel in the spring of 2006. Martin served as the technical director of the theater for six years. A thespian at heart, Martin also performed as a professional actor and clown, directed productions, designed lighting, ran sound, and taught classes in stage combat. Tragically, Martin passed away in a rigging accident in the spring of 2005.

Home to its annual performance series, the Kappel Theater is operated by the Chenango Arts Council and is available for rent for performances, meetings, weddings, church services, and more. For technical information see the documents below.
