Baroque and Badly Bent by Anthony Hanakovic
The Old Masters are alive again in artist Anthony Hanakovic. From his Baroque oil paintings to his prints, you'll feel transported to 17th century Europe when you step into the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries to see "Barque and Badly Bent", beginning March 6. This exhibit is also an exploration of the chiaroscuro technique, made famous by the likes of Rembrandt and Caravaggio, and used to create the illusion that a single source of light is illuminating the contents of a painting. Spirituality, art history, and the techniques of the Old Masters will be on display at Chenango Arts Council from March 6-20, 2020. Refreshments for the opening reception, beginning at 5:30 pm on Friday, March 6, are generously provided by the Cottage Bakery, operating out of Creative Works in Norwich NY. This exhibit is FREE and open to the public.
