  is also an exploration of the chiaroscuro technique\, made famous by the 
 likes of Rembrandt and Caravaggio\, and used to create the illusion that a
  single source of light is illuminating the contents of a painting. Spirit
 uality\, art history\, and the techniques of the Old Masters will be on di
 splay at Chenango Arts Council from March 6-20\, 2020. Refreshments for th
 e opening reception\, beginning at 5:30 pm on Friday\, March 6\, are gener
 ously provided by the Cottage Bakery\, operating out of Creative Works in 
 Norwich NY. This exhibit is FREE and open to the public.
