Description of Event

January 20
40th Annual Winter Living Celebration
A fun-filled day is packed with outdoor activities, demonstrations, and live performances. Visitors have the opportunity to be a “human bird-feeder,” make crafts in the Bird Cabin, view demonstrations by Environmental Conservation Officers and Forest Rangers, take a horse-drawn sleigh ride, and roast marshmallows over a campfire to make s’mores. Weather permitting, free cross-country skiing and snowshoeing is available. Area Boys Scouts share their on-site winter camping experience, and perennial favorite the Susquehanna String Band (SSB) provides musical entertainment. Interactive live demonstrations are presented on cross-cut sawing, ice-fishing, and fly-tying with Trout Unlimited. New this year, world-class ice sculptor Stanley Kolonko of The Ice Farm will delight guests with “the best ice south of the Arctic Circle.”
Hosted by Friends of Rogers and sponsored by Lok ‘n Logs
While this community festival is offered free of charge, donations are welcome to support future programs.
