The Earlville Opera House is thrilled to kick off their 2017 exhibition cycle with "Color Against the Snow", three stunning and eclectic shows featuring Penny Santy of Syracuse, Jon Iannitti of Hamilton, and the beloved Annual KidsART Exhibition featuring the work of students K-6 from area schools.

In the East Gallery, Santy's Connect-Disconnect explores themes of determination and power through her abstracted representations of bulls and cows, often symbols of strength. With A Manhattan Stretch-Warp Experience (Arts Cafe Gallery) Iannitti presents an energetic, distorted landscape, "a vibrating swirl of social commentary, humor and fantasy." Using vibrant colors and/or skewed perspectives, the artists engage and energize audiences, inviting the view to challenge their perspective of surroundings.

In the West Gallery, the Annual KidsART Exhibit features the amazing work of students from kindergarten through sixth grade. Collaborating with art teachers from several elementary schools in Central New York, the exhibit celebrates the freedom of expression and incomparable joy that comes so readily from young children. The exhibit typically draws more than 600 people over the course of the show and is a unique opportunity for children throughout the region to display their work in a professional gallery, and for the community at large to see the fine quality art these young people are capable of. The multi-media show features artwork from local elementary schools, including Hamilton Central, Sherburne-Earlville, Burton Street in Cazenovia, Edward R. Andrews in Morrisville-Eaton, Perry Browne, Gibson Primary and Norwich Middle Schools in Norwich, Unadilla Valley and New Life Christian in Hamilton.

Opening receptions for all the artists will be held on January 28 from 12-3pm with light refreshments. All three exhibits will run through March 11. Gallery hours are 10-5 Tuesday-Friday and 12-3 Saturdays. Admission is free, and the EOH is wheelchair accessible with a ramp and a lift. EOH events are made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and through the generosity of EOH members.
