2019 Riverside Strings Pilot Program

This project is a continuation of a pilot program of strings (violin) instruction at Riverside Elementary, which ran from September to December of 2018. The program seeks to establish themselves as a permanent fixture in the learning process of students so they are more adept to the arts.

Cassandra Cline Memorial Mosaic

George F Johnson Elementary School

This memorial project will provide grades k-5 at George F. Johnson and the community with hands on artistic experience working with Jablon Studios to develop a memorial mosaic in remembrance of the career of Cassandra Cline, a beloved kindergarten teach who lost in a tragic alligator attack during August of 2018. Everyone who was closely related or connected to Cassandra can participate for this commemoration event.

North Side Community Arts Project

Chenango St. Underpass

The Dept. of Public Art will paint a large scale mural in the newly constructed underpass on Chenango St. with the theme of healthy lifestyles, including images of fruits and vegetables. The designs will also feature images that promote physical activities such as running, stretching, and jumping.

Bainbridge Community Historical Memorial

Barbara Gregson will be directing a 13-day theater residency where she will train kids on the art of mime, mask perfomance, acting, improvisation, voice, and set design. To conclude their efforts, the kids will have 2 live performances of their original show, with an addition of 4 students drawing sections of the set, live, during the performances using easels and large pieces of paper to match the stories being told.
