"An American Miscellany - 250 years of American Choral Music" and Holiday Concert: "Christmas Songs throughout the Ages"
This Spring Concert will begin with a setting of "Yankee Doodle" and two or three anthems by composers from colonial America such as Billings. Music surrounding the Civil War will be represented by songs of Stephen Foster, American folksongs, and African-American spirituals.
The Holiday Concert will be celebrating Christmas, which has more song inspiration than any other in the history of humankind. Countless songs from many lands recall a silent night filled with angels and kings, and stories of the legendary manger.
