X-WR-CALDESC:This year’s series\, Siren Songs\, celebrates the arts and wom
en’s contributions to the arts\, as well their voices in our communities\,
marking the centennial of women’s suffrage in New York State\, three year
s ahead of the rest of our nation. After a century of progress and change\
, the impact and power of women’s voices in our communities remain a vital
contribution to our cultural experience. The five concerts are planned fo
r Thursday evenings at 7 PM starting 7/13 and ending 8/10. Next up is the
dazzling Amanda Rogers on July 27th. Often compared to Tom Waits for her l
iterary lyrics and Carole King for her pop sensibility\, CNY-native Rogers
has defined her musical career as an original\, independent\, touring\, r
ecording artist. Rogers can boast 9 albums and multiple tours\, as well as
song placements on networks such as the Discovery Channel and MTV. Perfor
mances begin at 7 PM and will take place at the bandstand on the Village G
reen in the center of Hamilton with a rain location at the nearby Colgate
Inn on the north end of the Village Green. Both locations are wheelchair a
ccessible. Hamilton Arts in the Park is presented by the Village of Hamilt
on and co-presented by the Earlville Opera House. The Village of Hamilton
is grateful for funds from the Decentralization Program\, a regrant progra
m of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor A
ndrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by CNY Art
