 ll of Fame and Museum (NAHOF) continues programming to accompany the five 
 week exhibit Changing America: The Emancipation Proclamation 1863\, and th
 e March on Washington 1963 with Spaces of Enslavement / Spaces of Freedom 
 presented by Ary J. Lamme III PhD. This program will compare the physical 
 characteristics of spaces where people were enslaved with spaces where the
 y were freed. Dr. Lamme will use images such as the Gamble Mansion in Elle
 nton FL and the Smith Mansion in Peterboro NY to demonstrate architectural
  similarities\, and differences in sets of ideals.\n\nThe Spaces program i
 s at 2 pm Saturday\, June 25 at 5255 Pleasant Valley Road in Peterboro NY.
  Dr. Lamme’s program will be followed by a walking tour of Peterboro Space
 s of Freedom guided by Norman K. Dann PhD. Dr. Dann’s tour will include lo
 cations in the hamlet and the Gerrit Smith Estate National Historic Landma
 rk.\n\nAry J. Lamme III holds an AB degree from Principia College in Elsah
 \, Illinois\, an MA from the University of Illinois\, and a Ph.D. in cultu
 ral geography from Syracuse University. He served as an instructor squadro
 n commander in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Dr. Lam
 me first taught at State University College\, Cortland\, New York. He was 
 a member of the geography faculty at the University of Florida for 33 year
 s and is now an Emeritus Professor. His book\, America’s Historic Landscap
 es (University of Tennessee Press\, 1990)\, is listed as a core resource i
 n the United States Secretary of the Interior’s Guide for the Treatment of
  Cultural Landscapes (1996). Dr. Lamme was 1999 Environmental Person of th
 e Year for Gainesville\, Florida. He and his wife\, Sandra\, have homes in
  Gainesville\, Florida and Cazenovia\, New York.\n\nThe Changing America e
 xhibit is open from 1-5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays\, and from 12 – 4 pm M
 ondays through Thursdays until July 14. The traveling exhibition is presen
 ted by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and C
 ulture and the National Museum of American History in collaboration with t
 he American Library Association Public Programs Office. The development an
 d tour of Changing America are made possible by a major grant from the Nat
 ional Endowment for the Humanities (NEH): Exploring the human endeavor. Th
 e public is encouraged to attend the Changing America exhibit and program
